I'm all caught up - and cold!
Okay, so know these aren't feet pictures, but I thought I would reward myself and my potential readers with some bonus photos of recent times, above. I am all caught up with my pictures, and will start positing in a timely manner.
35 feet? But I only have 2!
35 foot tall tree at Miracle on Fulton St. in downtown NOLA. I wish the photo gave the tree justice!
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Natchitoches Christmas Festival
Fireworks on the riverbank above, Christmas lights below. Why is it that bright lights have us mesmerized?

Happiness at My Toe Tips
I'm home at my parents' house, wearing very cute gold flats, watching my two loves play together in the falling snow.
My perspective here is to be envied, for sure.
A little Left Over Voodoo
I hadn't started to blog when I started this process, all of the past entries were months ago. Every October, Voodoo Music Experience takes over City Park. I am in love with the huge metal letters staged in front of NOMA welcoming you into the music fest. At night, it would light up, and completely added to the vibe of this year's Voodoo that featured acts like KISS and The Flaming Lips. Let me just say, The Flaming Lips were so weird, so strange, so amazingly AWESOME. They are a must-see concert for anyone that hasn't.
THe really cool part about my photo: Behind me, there was an art installation of small mounds of grass about the size of a basketball. Thesee mounds spelled out "welcome" in braille. Incredible!

Beware of Those Behind the Fence
The Angola Prison Rodeo - a place where murderers rehabilitating offenders show of their craft work as well as their devil-may-care rodeo attitudes, and mingle with the outside community (somewhat). No cameras are allowed inside, you know, so we don't treat them like they are zoo animals. The inmates look forward to this all year long, and work for the position that they eventually earn (or do not earn). It is amazing, I love it, and I have now been twice. The acres upon acres of land that make up the Angola Penitentiary is awe-inspiring. The amount of inmates that are behind bars for life because of capital crimes is unsettling. But damn it all, they have the best cedar chests and rocking chairs in the whole country!
An Experience to Have
The Preservation Hall Jazz Band is housed in Preservation Hall right next to Pat O's in the French Quarter of NOLA. I have now been to their show about 4 times, and every time is a treat. It is a very small room, with 2 benches, a couple pillows up at the very front, and standing room in the back. It is cramped as hell very intimate. Every New Orleanian must go to Preservation Hall at least once, I think, to be considered a true New Orleanian. No, living out your vices during Mardi Gras doesn't do it. No, knowing how to pronounce the street names doesn't do it either. PHJB is what indoctrinates you into the culture.
As you can see, we got there early and sat on pillows at the very front. It is the best, other than the benches!

Wild Turkey Always Drags Me Away
What's with the turkey basters, you ask? Hm...
Team Name: Inglourious Basters (Thanksgiving Tournament)
What's in the jar, you ask? Hm...

Roadtrippin' to Alabama
We are heading to Alabama for an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament (him, not me. Come on, I was a cheerleader) A thought comes to mind when I look at this picture. Why the hell are that car's lights so damn bright?!
Buddha is Good...ah?
While in New Iberia, LA for the Ultimate World Gumbo Cook-Off, Don and I toured the Jungle Gardens on Avery Island (home of TOBASCO, in case you didn't know). There was a great big Buddha statue housed in this little padogo. You couldn't touch it, ,and couldn't even see if very well, but apparently it was calming enough for Don to be able to create a "pondering" pose.
**Note: This was very difficult to shoot. Pretty much upside down on a the rocky banks of a lake. Respect!**

Football, Anyone?
The birth of the foot pictures occurred while attending a Flag Football game for my friends a few months back. I brought my camera out to catch some action shots, and found that the field was the kind that had those black rubber pellets in it. Intrigued, I took a shot. My Grandma Nan always told me that a landscape picture isn't worth anything unless you or someone you know is in it. I continue to take this to heart in my tourist photography, and it has traveled into my artistic expression.
Pardon the chipped nail polish. You better get used to it, though. :)
